We are on the lookout for a Drupal Back-end Developer, who can offer additional technical expertise to our well-established team.

CTI offers the opportunity to work collaboratively from our Manchester office on rewarding projects, delivering high-quality solutions for respected clients.

As a Drupal Back-end Developer, you will be tasked with using your expertise to deliver high quality solutions that meet predefined requirements.

CTI follow agile principles and have a keen focus on ensuring our technical infrastructure enables our teams to perform to their best. We will, of course, provide full training on our quality management and wider working practices. But before all of that: you can expect an informal telephone interview to evaluate suitability for the role, followed by a face to face interview by members of the team.

A Back-end Developer will:

  • Work under the direction of a Technical Lead, and alongside other developers, to produce solutions in line with defined requirements.
  • Ensure the technical quality and consistency of developments that you produce, in terms of the key areas: Security, Maintainability, and Performance.
  • Solve challenging problems, using an extensive understanding of Drupal’s architecture, APIs and custom module development.
  • Guide and mentor less-experienced developers, working effectively as a team.
  • Constantly improve, to keep pace with new innovations and technologies.

Our ideal candidate will be:

  • A skilled developer - demonstrating excellent PHP coding abilities and an understanding of the advantages of producing clean, maintainable code.
  • Experienced - with a proven track record developing Drupal websites.
  • Experience of code-driven development (Drupal 7 features-based development workflow and Drupal 8 configuration management system).
  • Familiar with common security vulnerabilities and using Drupal’s APIs to prevent malicious attacks.
  • Meticulous - with high attention to detail.
  • A good communicator - to translate technical solutions to varied internal audiences.
  • Well-organised - to manage tasks and time efficiently.
  • Ambitious - coming to work to make a difference.  

Other desirable traits include:

  • Experience with other modern PHP frameworks (e.g. Symfony, Laravel).
  • Familiarity with Drush and Git workflows.
  • Knowledge and experience of automated testing.
  • An active interest in contributing to the Drupal community.
