At CTI, we are entering an exciting period. After moving to an expansive new office, complete with UX lab and purpose-built workshop rooms, we’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to form a significant part of our continued growth.

Over the next 3 years, our strategy and user experience team will help drive CTI’s growth as an agency. The projects you work on at CTI will be truly varied in terms of the sector, size, and specialisms.

We focus on innovative projects and believe those opportunities can come from any industry. You’ll work on everything from lengthy, research-based design projects for universities to smaller projects where you have to make a big impact in a short space of time for a charity.

We also want you to make an impact internally. We’ve made a lot of progress delivering projects in a more user-centred manner while promoting the benefits to our clients. We have big ambitions, but we're not there yet. So you’ll need to drive change by working closely with our senior management team to introduce new ways for working and improve our existing approach.

Find out more about what it's like to work at CTI in our careers brochure.

Careers Brochure

In your first year, we anticipate that you will:

  • Significantly improve our user research approach and, in turn, the value of our outputs.
  • Deliver user experience projects to a consistent quality and work pragmatically, within the bounds of a project (e.g. time and budget constraints).
  • Encourage a greater understanding of user experience throughout CTI, ensuring that we put the user at the centre of everything that we do.

We expect you'll deliver this by:

  • Organising and undertaking high quality primary research, having selected the right technique for the situation at hand.

  • Analysing a range of primary and secondary research to identify genuinely valuable new insights into our clients’ users.

  • Translating your findings into a format that brings your research to life for everyone involved in the project.

  • Creating low-fidelity designs and prototypes, for websites and other user interfaces, that derive from research-based rationale.

  • Validating your design work through a range of usability testing techniques, including sessions within our purpose-built eye tracking lab.

  • Forming trusted, consultative relationships with clients so that you can influence their project and wider organisation significantly.

  • Working closely and collaboratively with our developers, strategists, project managers and client services teams to deliver a service that puts our clients' users at the centre of everything we do.

  • Building close working relationships throughout CTI, to influence how we approach projects in order to deliver better results for our clients.

  • Introducing new ways of working, demonstrating them on client projects, and then documenting these processes and mentoring others to improve our overall approach.

  • Contributing to the sale of user experience work, developing how CTI promotes our UX service line, producing proposals and attending pitches.

CTI is shaped by the needs of its clients and built by people who have grown with the company. This role is no different, offering a great opportunity to develop your career with the team.
