We were briefed to build an eCommerce site for The Protein Works, a start-up in the crowded sports nutrition marketplace. The client had big ambitions to be a market leader from the outset and needed an online presence to match. From a standing start, the new site had to attract a high volume of traffic, make it easy for customers to buy and keep them coming back.
The website has enabled us to expand rapidly and become a major player in the UK, as well as in several key European markets. Our on-going work with CTI has focused on improving conversion rates, which are now consistently in excess of 5%, much higher than our target 3%.

Following extensive research, several key areas were identified that would inform the design and build, including; intense competition, the importance of delivery time and the lack of personalisation offered by competitors.
The site was built using Magento CE with additional features built in, including a custom shipping matrix, warehouse picking and shipping management, and a reward points system.
A clear online identity was developed by our in house creative team to differentiate The Protein Works from the competition and reflect its fresh approach to sports nutrition.
Features to improve conversion rates included; 'time until next delivery' countdown clock, integrated independent customer reviews and ratings, and a customised one-page checkout.
