Our Experience

Working with the Public Sector is an enormously important part of our culture here at CTI Digital. Our understanding of the government’s Digital by Default standard ideally places us to address the unique requirements of the Public Sector; adopting the latest technology allows us to innovate and to create the best solution possible.

We’ve worked with Public Sector clients of all sizes, from Greater London Authority to WestWay Trust. For each, we carefully consider the end users’ perspective and what they might require from their representative council or government body; this allows us to provide a site that exceeds expectations. That may be an updated content management system, or a full-scale migration and content refresh, to help the client achieve their long term goals.

Why Choose CTI Digital?

Greater London Authority

When the Mayor of London made london.gov.uk a central part of his digital strategy, GLA undertook extensive research to identify the core users of the website and their needs from it. The project, which spanned 18 months, was a collaborative effort between 5 different organisations, including CTI Digital, who built the website.

Faced with the challenge of connecting to a population of 8.63 million residents, across a diverse range of opinions, backgrounds and needs, GLA concluded that the site should be modern, open and engaging, and ought to listen to people’s concerns. We implemented a User-Centred Service Design, by streamlining and grouping content intelligently. We used pre-existing modules, allowing us to integrate systems that help with the site’s data migration, webcasts, taxonomy, assembly papers, planning decisions, jobs feed, and search sections. The site was also given a scalable infrastructure, that will provide the support and speed necessary during peak demand periods, such as New Year’s Eve or times of community crisis.

Kent County Supplies

Founded in 1978, Kent County Supplies (KCS) is wholly owned by Kent County Council, which is the largest Local Authority in England. They provide purchasing, warehousing and distribution services to a wide-ranging customer base, within local government and associated public bodies. With a combined product inventory of over 15,000 lines, KCS prides itself on being the best value provider in the market.

Recognising a shift in consumer trends, and hoping to maintain their best-in-class reputation, KCS re-structured their entire business, to provide an omnichannel shopping experience. A comprehensive rebranding ensured that KCS remained consistent across channels, retaining brand loyalty as they shifted their sales focus from catalogue to online. Operating on a B2B basis, it was key to optimise customer experience, encouraging bulk orders with ease and integrating an ‘order approvals’ process, allowing manageable permission levels for the end user.

British Council

The International School Award, from the British Council, is an online accreditation scheme for UK and international schools. It provides a supportive and motivational framework to guide international learning activities, whilst also helping schools to gain recognition for their ongoing international work.

The application process and internal procedure to action the award had become cumbersome, difficult to maintain and dependent on legacy systems. Its replacement needed to resolve existing support issues and ensure that it would not encounter the same problems down the line. We created an intelligent, streamlined automated system and, as a result, we improved the user experience, for both administrators and schools. By migrating the platform to Drupal 7, we were able to provide cost-effective support, security and longevity, to ‘futureproof’ the client’s investment.
